Who

Synthetic Playground, LLC is a Seattle-area internet consultancy with a really, really big bag of tricks. A one-man shop obsessively experienced in every tier, variety, and form of web, desktop, server, and database development and deployment.

Why

In my highly varied career, the majority of which has been in early-stage startups, I have been blessed to wear dozens of hats; often half a dozen at a time. I have worked my way across the computing landscape and back again, twice. From front-end design and web application development to architecting, programming, and deploying high-performance systems. I own new technology at a breakneck pace and refuse to fail without giving 110%.

I have deep respect for business needs and insist on finding the optimal balance between future needs and the competitive edge of 'implement it yesterday.' My unique cross-discipline perspective facilitates communication; managing expectations and keeping development in sync with requirements. My attention to detail consistently produces a high quality final product. I perform equally well in solo and team environments.

My platform of choice is Ruby and *nix. I've worked with many others including Java and Perl. I am fully buzzword compliant.
